Organizational Background & Mission: Kentucky’s Department of Workforce Investment will transform the workforce development system through innovative practices which enhance sustainable economic and job growth. Four goals that were based on stakeholder and public input include: 1) Align the Commonwealth’s workforce development system with Kentucky’s education objectives; 2) Align the Commonwealth’s workforce development system with economic development strategies; 3) Simplify the workforce development service delivery systems; and 4) Improve service to achieve a customer-centered delivery system.

Interest in Sector Work: Becoming a Marano Fellow will increase my expertise in ways to build effective sector strategies to establish engaged and sustainable partnerships and to build skilled workforces to provide meaningful jobs in the Energy Creation/Transmission Sectors.
