Private Non Profit Workforce Development Services Provider and the Administrative Agent for the Western Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, Inc.
“I am excited about working with a group of peers to gain new ideas and insights and to tackle work in an industry that has high potential, but has yet to be established in the area.”
Organizational Mission: Workforce Connections, Inc. connects people work and training while advancing self-sufficiency.
Workforce Connections, Inc. has provided employment and training services since its incorporation under the Job Training Partnership Act in 1983.
Interest in Sector Work: Our organization has helped establish industry clusters, especially in equipment or metal manufacturing, and food and agribusiness. I expect to work in the emerging bio plastic/composite industry that is emerging in the tri-state region of Western Wisconsin, Southeast Minnesota and Iowa. We have done sector work in established industries, but are looking for guidance and ideas in emerging industries. I hope to develop career and training ladders and lattices from entry level to 4 year degrees to fill future business needs. Before the recession, the area faced a severe labor shortage. We expect the shortage to return when the economy picks up and will need to assist people with disabilities, ex-offenders, high school dropouts, youth aging out of foster care the long-term unemployed, and dislocated manufacturing workers to enter skilled occupations.
